S.C. Romanian Air Transport S.A. (TAROM) is the leading airline in Romania, with a long tradition in the field. Tarom is controlled in proportion of 96.7% of the Ministry of Transport, the other shareholders being SIF Muntenia, the National Company Bucharest Otopeni Airport and ROMATSA. He is a member of the Skyteam alliance. 2004 is the first year that the company had profit, recovering from a very difficult period in which incurred losses due to unprofitable routes. The company had a market share of 34% in 2007 and 30% in 2008. In 2010 carried 2.2 million passengers. In 2015 Tarom transported 2.39 million passengers and benefit from a 22% market share.
